The Gwarzo ADC resignation was confirmed in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the party in Gwarzo Local Government Area, where the former deputy governor stated that his decision takes immediate effect.

In the letter, Aminu Gwarzo said the resignation followed “deep reflection and wide consultations” with political associates, supporters, and well-wishers across the state. He added that recent political developments had influenced his decision to reassess his alignment within the party.

Gwarzo further explained that the evolving political environment made it necessary for him to “chart a new course” in line with his long-term political vision. His remarks suggest a strategic repositioning amid shifting alliances within Kano’s political circles.

The development comes at a time of heightened political activity in the state, where party structures continue to experience realignments ahead of future electoral cycles. Observers describe the move as a significant but not entirely unexpected adjustment in the local political equation.

As of the time of filing this report, the African Democratic Congress had not issued an official response to the resignation.
