Kwara Minority Stakeholders Demand APC Ticket for Edu/Moro/Patigi Seat

Kwara APC zoning Edu Moro Patigi 2027 debate as stakeholders demand House of Reps seat be ceded to Moro LG for fairness and equity

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State have called for the zoning of the 2027 House of Representatives seat for the Edu/Moro/Patigi federal constituency to be ceded to Moro.

APC Zoning Issue in Kwara’s Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency 2027 appeal was made in a statement signed by Mallam Kareem Suleiman, who argued that Moro has been politically sidelined since Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999.

The stakeholders insisted that while other local governments within the constituency have had opportunities to produce representatives at various levels, Moro has yet to produce a member of the National Assembly despite being part of the rotational arrangement in Kwara North.

They argued that Edu and Patigi have alternated representation in the House of Representatives since 1999, with several lawmakers emerging from both areas over the years, while Moro has remained excluded from the arrangement.

Suleiman also expressed support for calls advocating zoning of the Kwara State governorship position to Kwara North, describing both demands as issues of fairness, equity and inclusion in governance.

He urged APC leadership at both state and national levels to consider Moro for the 2027 House of Representatives ticket, stressing that such a decision would promote unity and address long-standing concerns over political marginalisation within the constituency.
