Peter Obi 2027 election prediction gains attention as Prophet Joshua Iginla says only Obi can challenge Tinubu with a northern deputy
Prophet Joshua Iginla, the founder of Champion Royal Assembly, 2026, said in Abuja that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi remains the only opposition figure capable of mounting a serious challenge against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Peter Obi 2027 Election Forecast Sparks Political Debate was made during a live church service, where the cleric offered what he described as a personal political opinion on Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
Iginla stated that Obi, who is reportedly among contenders for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket, would require a strong northern vice-presidential candidate to pose a significant electoral challenge to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, such a pairing would create a more competitive political contest, though he cautioned against certain political alignments that could weaken Obi’s chances.
“Peter Obi, don’t, if you vice anybody, you have lost your political relevance,” Iginla said, urging the opposition figure to be strategic in selecting a running mate.
The cleric added that patience and careful planning would be essential for any serious attempt to unseat the incumbent administration.
The remarks come amid growing political discussions around possible alliances ahead of the 2027 elections, including reported talks between Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso over a potential political arrangement.
Supporters of both figures have in recent months speculated about a possible Obi–Kwankwaso ticket, which some believe could reshape the dynamics of the next presidential race.
