Florence Ajimobi Oyo Impeachment Denial follows claims linking her to alleged plot against Governor Seyi Makinde, which she strongly rejects
The immediate past First Lady of Oyo State, Florence Ajimobi, on Tuesday, April 2026, in Ibadan, Oyo State, firmly denied allegations linking her to an alleged plot to remove Governor Seyi Makinde, describing the claims as baseless, misleading and politically motivated.

The clarification was issued through a statement released by her media office, following reports that surfaced earlier in the day suggesting she had allegedly held a meeting with the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebowale Ogundoyin, over a purported impeachment plan.
Florence Ajimobi dismissed the speculation in strong terms, insisting that she has no involvement in the internal political affairs of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State.
She stated that attempts to associate her with such claims were a deliberate effort to tarnish her image and reputation, adding that the allegations were driven by mischief and what she described as “reverse propaganda”.
The former First Lady maintained that she has remained detached from current political developments in the state, stressing that her focus is not on partisan activities or legislative matters involving the state government.
The statement read in part that the activities of the PDP in Oyo State do not concern her, reinforcing her position that she has no role in or knowledge of any alleged impeachment discussions.
The denial comes amid heightened political tension and growing speculation within the state’s political landscape, though no official confirmation has been provided by the Oyo State House of Assembly regarding any such meeting or plot.
