The resignation was contained in a letter dated April 13 and addressed to the PDP chairman of Dura/Bitaro Ward in Jaba Local Government Area.
In the letter, Lolo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the party in a leadership capacity, describing her tenure as an honour and a valuable experience.
“I have formally resigned my membership and position within the PDP. I am thankful for the experience and the opportunity to serve as State Woman Leader,” she stated.
Although she did not disclose her next political destination, political sources suggest her name has surfaced within a Kaduna South campaign structure linked to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The speculation has fuelled widespread interpretation of a possible defection, particularly given her influence in mobilising women and grassroots political support across Kaduna State.
The Godiya Lolo PDP resignation is already being viewed by analysts as part of a broader pattern of political realignments emerging across the state ahead of the next election cycle.
Observers say her potential move could significantly alter grassroots dynamics, especially within the PDP women’s wing, where she played a central organisational role.
Attempts to obtain official confirmation from APC representatives were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report, though insiders suggest that more political movements may occur in the coming weeks.
Her resignation is considered a setback for the PDP in Kaduna, where party structures continue to grapple with internal adjustments and leadership transitions.
The party has yet to issue an official response, but consultations are reportedly ongoing to manage the leadership vacuum and prevent further defections.

As political activities intensify across the state, analysts believe Lolo’s next move could have wider implications for party loyalty and electoral positioning in Southern Kaduna and beyond.
