Speaking in a video circulating on X, Ganduje made the confident assertion while formally welcoming Governor Yusuf back into the APC alongside several defecting lawmakers and officials from the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
The event marked a notable shift in Kano’s political landscape, drawing attention from stakeholders across the country.
“You will win your second term in 2027. We have spoken to all aspirants, and they have agreed to support you,” Ganduje stated emphatically, addressing Governor Yusuf during the gathering.
He further assured him of an “automatic APC ticket” and full backing from the party structure.
Ganduje also extended his confidence to the presidency, stating that President Tinubu would secure re-election in 2027.
“As you are coming in, we assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will also win the 2027 election. APC will stand solidly with you,” he added, underscoring what he described as growing unity within the party.
The development follows a series of defections involving members of the House of Representatives and other elected officials, signalling what observers describe as a strategic consolidation within the APC ahead of the next general elections.
Ganduje framed the defections as part of a broader effort to strengthen party cohesion and dominance in Kano State, Nigeria’s most populous northern region.
Political analysts suggest that the alignment could have far-reaching implications for electoral dynamics in the North, where Kano remains a critical battleground.
The return of Governor Yusuf and other political figures to the APC is being viewed as a significant boost to the party’s organisational strength and grassroots influence.
