ADC Denies Endorsing Atiku, Obi, Amaechi Ahead of 2027

ADC 2027 endorsement claims dismissed as Bolaji Abdullahi stresses party is open to all aspirants and has made no early endorsements

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected claims that it is being positioned as a vehicle for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, or any other political figure ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, made the clarification during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, stressing that the party remains open to all aspirants and has made no endorsements.

“We will not be blackmailed into taking an early position. Zoning is under consideration, and discussions are ongoing at a strategic level, but I cannot disclose specifics at this time,” Abdullahi said.

He emphasised that the party’s focus is on developing an inclusive political movement rather than advancing the ambitions of any individual.

“Certainly not. This is no more about Atiku Abubakar than it is about Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, or anyone else interested in contesting under our platform,” he added.

Abdullahi also highlighted that the ADC’s leadership will make major decisions at the appropriate time, cautioning against rushing sensitive matters requiring consensus among stakeholders.

He further urged opposition groups to collaborate, warning that disunity could weaken democratic competition and give the ruling party an advantage as the 2027 elections approach.
