Opara made the appeal during an interview, where he emphasized the need for unity among major opposition figures to present a stronger challenge to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He specifically urged Kwankwaso to consider dropping personal ambitions and support a joint political arrangement that could strengthen the opposition’s electoral chances.
According to him, Peter Obi has demonstrated strong leadership capacity and electoral appeal, making him a central figure in any potential coalition.
Opara also argued that opposition fragmentation has weakened previous electoral efforts and that unity among top political actors would improve competitiveness in 2027.
He further suggested that regional and political considerations should be set aside in favour of a strategic alliance aimed at national balance and broader acceptance.
