Hon. Adedeji Olajide declares 2027 Oyo governorship bid, pledging to build on Makinde’s achievements and promote inclusive development
The Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West federal constituency in Oyo State, has officially declared his intention to contest the governorship seat in the 2027 election.

Olajide made the announcement through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, citing consultations with political associates, stakeholders, and constituents as the basis for his decision.
The two-term federal legislator praised the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that the current administration has made significant progress in infrastructure and restored public confidence in governance.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has laid a solid foundation for the next phase of governance in Oyo State, and my plan is to consolidate on these achievements while expanding opportunities for economic growth, social development, and inclusive governance,” Olajide said.
Outlining his agenda, Olajide highlighted economic diversification, youth empowerment through technology, security enhancement, and continued infrastructural development in both urban and rural areas.
He also emphasised supporting small and medium-scale enterprises, promoting digital innovation, improving education access, and strengthening healthcare delivery.
“Our vision for Oyo State is anchored on sustainable development, economic productivity, and responsive governance that prioritises the welfare of the people,” Olajide said.
“Our focus will be on building a sustainable economy, creating opportunities for our youth, empowering entrepreneurs, and ensuring that development reaches every community in Oyo State.”
The lawmaker further stressed that effective governance must be driven by transparency, accountability, and active citizen participation, underlining inclusive leadership as essential for sustainable development.
Olajide called on Oyo residents, political stakeholders, and members of the Peoples Democratic Party to support his aspiration and join him in building on the foundations laid by the Makinde administration.
