Sani made the remarks on Thursday while hosting social media influencers to an “Iftar,” marking the breaking of the Ramadan fast.
He noted that Kaduna State would be the first subnational government to benefit from the $200 million Nigeria-China Poultry project, expected to create 350 direct jobs and 150,000 indirect jobs while supporting around 10,000 small businesses.
“By the grace of God, in the next two months, we will be doing the groundbreaking for the construction of the biggest poultry project in Sub-Saharan Africa,” he said.
The governor also revealed that Kaduna would be among the first states, alongside Lagos, to implement a light rail system, with the groundbreaking scheduled for May.
On education, Sani said the state, in partnership with the Kuwait Development Fund, has built 104 schools, constructed 65 secondary schools, and renovated more than 2,300 classrooms.
An additional 55 secondary schools are in the pipeline, while at least 2,000 teachers will be recruited next month to reduce the number of out-of-school children, which has dropped from 580,000 in 2023 to 182,000.
Sani highlighted vocational training initiatives in Soba, Rigachikun, and Zangon Kataf, which are expected to graduate 32,000 certified artisans annually under the supervision of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
In health, the administration upgraded 255 primary healthcare centres and 16 secondary facilities, with plans to recruit 1,800 medical personnel annually over five years.
The governor also discussed agriculture, noting the establishment of the Special Agro Industrial Processing Zone and a partnership with Afreximbank to create an Africa Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC) to certify produce for export.
He added that the agriculture budget increased from 0.5% to over 11%, surpassing the Malabo Declaration target, and 900 trucks of fertilisers have been distributed free to smallholder farmers.
