Wike made the commitment while addressing residents in a thank-you visit following the Feb. 21 FCT area council elections.

The pledge came after the council’s Chairman-elect, Danjuma Shekwolo, requested the execution of three key road projects.

The minister said he would consult with Shekwolo and traditional leaders to determine which project would commence first.

“By the time your chairman is sworn in by June, I will call him, call the traditional rulers, and we will sit and agree which one we will begin with,” Wike said.

Recalling previous appeals by residents, Wike noted that the Airport Road to Kuje project, awarded under a prior administration, had been resumed.

He also confirmed the Tipper Garage to LEA Secretariat Road had been dualised and inaugurated.

“The contractor executing the Airport Road to Kuje has returned to site, and we pray that by June, Mr President will inaugurate it along with the Kuje-Gwagwalada road, which is 16 to 17 kilometres long,” he added.

Wike thanked traditional leaders and Kuje residents for their support during the elections, noting that President Bola Tinubu directed that their backing should not be taken for granted.

He advised Shekwolo to remain close to his constituents, consult widely with leaders, women, and youths, and continue supporting the Tinubu administration.
