In a statement personally signed and made available to journalists on Monday, Adeola, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed concern over recent comments on social media by some of his loyalists.
He described the statements against other APC aspirants as “detestable” and stressed that he had not authorised anyone to speak on his behalf.
“I have not made any official statement regarding any aspirant’s aspiration or responded to the unprovoked media attacks against my person or political career,” the senator said.
Reaffirming his current priorities, Adeola stated that he remains focused on serving his constituents and the nation.
“It is not in my character to derogate, demean or ridicule any of my fellow party members on the basis of their genuine aspirations,” he added.
He appealed to his supporters and party members to maintain decorum and promote a rancour-free process during the party’s upcoming activities.
“We are all members of a great political family and we must eschew bitterness and rancour in our relationship,” Adeola said.
The senator also called on party faithful to highlight the achievements recorded under his representation, as well as the administration of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Our focus should be on continuity of the ongoing reforms of our great party, APC, at both the state and national level and not on any unproductive internal bickering,” he stated.
