FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has declared he will support only candidates who openly back Bola Tinubu in the February 21, 2026, area council elections in Abuja.

Speaking at Senator Sandy Onor’s 60th birthday celebration, Wike said his political support would cut across party lines but would exclude anyone opposing Tinubu’s reelection bid.
He emphasized his duty to ensure Tinubu-aligned candidates win while anti-Tinubu contenders do not, stating he owed no apology for his stance.
The event also included tributes to Onor from political leaders and academics, highlighting his career, integrity, and contributions to society.

A Festschrift was unveiled in Onor’s honor, and Wike announced a N50 million donation on behalf of himself and associates.
