The statement came amid speculation that Tinubu might drop Shettima as his running mate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
During the conference, the President introduced Shettima to attendees, prompting applause from governors, ministers, senior officials, and private sector leaders.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling terrorism, banditry, and insecurity, highlighting agriculture and mechanisation reforms aimed at boosting productivity and food security.
He also stressed ongoing economic and infrastructure development efforts.
Vice President Shettima, in his address, urged stronger collaboration among federal, state, and local governments to prioritize poverty reduction, job creation, and fiscal sustainability, emphasizing the NEC as a platform for shaping Nigeria’s economic future through dialogue and consensus.
