APC Tackles Impeachment Moves Against Rivers Governor Fubara

APC chairman Yilwatda says party is gradually addressing impeachment moves against Rivers Governor Fubara for stability

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun addressing impeachment proceedings targeting Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, according to the party’s National Chairman, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda.

Speaking on Trust TV on Sunday, Prof Yilwatda explained that the party is leveraging internal mechanisms to “self-heal” and stabilize the situation in Rivers State.

He emphasized that these measures are part of APC’s unique strategies for resolving internal disputes.

“Are you hearing anything about the impeachment of Rivers State Governor Fubara again? We are discussing this with the lawmakers because that is an internal party issue,” Yilwatda stated.

He added, “We’re self-healing the process in Rivers. We’re ensuring that we stabilize Rivers State and we maximize opportunities in Rivers State so that we can win and win overwhelmingly in the state.”

The comments come after recent tensions in the Rivers State House of Assembly, where members had insisted on moving forward with impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.
