APC rejects ADC claims that civil servants are coerced into joining the party, calling the allegation “false” amid a surge in digital registration
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants are being coerced into joining the ruling party through its ongoing electronic registration exercise.

In a statement issued Monday, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka described the ADC’s claims as a “disinformation campaign” fuelled by fear over the party’s increasing membership numbers.
“The claim is entirely false and baseless, and seeks to cast a shadow over the cutting-edge and pathbreaking digitization of our Party’s membership register,” Morka said.
ADC spokesman Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi had alleged on Sunday that civil servants across the country were being forced to register with the APC.
The ruling party countered, arguing that the opposition’s allegations are intended to undermine the successful turnout of citizens participating in the digital enrolment.
Morka also cited a previous incident involving the circulation of a fake APC membership slip linked to a notorious terrorist, accusing the ADC of a consistent pattern of deceit.
According to the APC, the e-registration exercise has been so popular that its leadership adjusted the timeline to accommodate additional participants, attributing the surge to public approval of the current administration’s policies.
“The registration process remains voluntary and enthusiastic, fueled by the visible gains and impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement said.

The party concluded by reiterating its commitment to digital innovation and democratic engagement, describing itself as “Africa’s standard-bearer of digital and democratic innovation” and dismissing the ADC’s claims as attempts to smear the exercise.
