ADSIEC begins candidate screening for Adamawa local government elections on July 11, assuring fairness and compliance with electoral laws
The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, ADSIEC, has commenced the screening of candidates for local government elections scheduled for July 11 across the state’s 21 local government areas.

The current council officials, elected on July 13, 2024, will complete their tenure on July 12, ahead of the incoming administration.
The screening exercise currently involves candidates from the African Democratic Congress and the Social Democratic Party, with plans to continue with other participating parties, including the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and the main opposition All Progressives Congress.
Chairman of ADSIEC, Alhaji Muhammed Madagali, assured political parties and candidates of the Commission’s commitment to fairness and strict compliance with the law.
“All necessary preparations have been concluded ahead of the screening, including the verification of candidates’ documents and adequate security arrangements to ensure an orderly process,” he said.

Madagali urged all participants to adhere to electoral guidelines and cooperate fully with officials to guarantee a successful exercise.
