Rivers State Secretary Benibo Anabraba resigns from PDP, citing personal reasons, with reports linking him to a possible move to APC
The Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG), Benibo Anabraba, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing personal reasons.

Anabraba’s resignation was communicated in a letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman, Ward 1, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
In the letter, he described his decision to leave the main opposition party as “personal,” while expressing gratitude for the “political leverage gained from the party during the period of my membership.”
Although he did not disclose his next political move, sources suggest that Anabraba is planning to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
