Tambuwal 2027 APC opposition rally in Sokoto signals fierce comeback as ex-governor vows to unseat Tinubu and mobilize nationwide support
Tambuwal 2027 APC opposition rally took center stage in Sokoto on Friday as former Governor and current Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal returned to the state in a politically charged homecoming seen as the kickoff of his 2027 campaign efforts against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Supporters from Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara turned out in the thousands, lining the streets of the Sokoto metropolis in a show of solidarity, waving banners, and chanting anti-APC slogans.
“In 2023, we warned Nigeria that Bola Tinubu’s presidency would lead to hunger, hardship, and hopelessness.
Today, the nation is living through that nightmare,” Tambuwal declared to thunderous cheers.
In a fiery address, Tambuwal criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of fueling economic collapse and worsening insecurity.
He urged opposition parties and Nigerians from all walks of life to unite and mobilize against the APC in the 2027 elections.
“We will not be silenced. We will not allow this suffering to continue.
The time to remove APC and Tinubu is 2027 — and the journey begins now,” he stated passionately.
Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Director General of Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 Presidential Campaign, signaled a clear intent to be a central figure in opposition politics ahead of the next general election.
Addressing recent reports of an interrogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Tambuwal described his visit as entirely voluntary and insisted that the corruption allegations were false.
“I was invited, and I went on my own. I left on self-recognition as a Commander of the Federal Republic. The ₦2 billion monthly withdrawal claim is absurd. Sokoto doesn’t even receive that much monthly,” he said.
Tambuwal’s return and rally are being viewed by political observers as a strategic power move, setting the tone for an aggressive opposition campaign in the build-up to 2027.
His remarks also emphasized a broader coalition effort, hinting at collaboration with parties like the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other progressive platforms.
