APC Ekiti unity emphasized ahead of 2027 elections as stakeholders call for inclusiveness, fair representation, and strong grassroots mobilisation
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara have emphasised the need for party unity and internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning that past crises have undermined political progress in the area and Kwara South.

The call was made on Thursday during a consultative engagement of party leaders and members held in Ilorin.
Hon. Otunba Taiwo Joseph, Chairman of the Communiqué Committee, said the meeting aimed to deliberate on equitable political representation, strategic preparedness, and party cohesion.
Hon. Joseph stressed that internal divisions had previously stalled political advancement, noting that strict adherence to internal democracy, inclusiveness, and transparent processes would be key to APC’s success in the governorship and legislative elections.
Stakeholders urged the national leadership and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to consider Ekiti Local Government’s longstanding aspiration to produce a House of Representatives member, arguing that fair representation would strengthen party unity.
They also expressed support for Deputy Senate Leader Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru for the 2027 governorship race, citing his experience, leadership, and legislative record.
The meeting encouraged all qualified aspirants from Ekiti Local Government to participate in the elections, particularly for the Federal Constituency seat.

The stakeholders reaffirmed loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the APC, pledging disciplined engagement, grassroots mobilisation, and efforts to consolidate the party’s dominance in Kwara South and Ekiti Local Government.
