Arewa for Asiwaju predicts massive Northern votes for Tinubu in 2027 as it unveils 528 youth ambassadors to mobilise support across Kano State

The group’s Director-General, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, a former Jigawa State governor and former Minister of Defence, made the prediction on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, during the unveiling of the ambassadors.
Badaru said the youth ambassadors would mobilise support for Tinubu by visiting communities across Kano’s 44 local government areas and 484 wards to publicise the president’s policies, projects and empowerment programmes.
He described the initiative as part of efforts to showcase the administration’s achievements ahead of the next presidential election.
“The job of the 528 Youth Ambassadors is to go out to the nooks and crannies of the 484 wards of the 44 local government areas of the state to spread the gospel of good works of President Tinubu, which is clearly not propaganda,” he said.
The former minister expressed confidence in the president’s prospects in the North, citing the turnout of young people at the event as an encouraging sign for the campaign.
“The happy hundreds of youths that came out for this programme give us much higher hopes, apart from the fact that we knew that even before this time, the North stood firmly with the President,” Badaru said.
Badaru said the group intended to promote what it described as the administration’s achievements in Northern Nigeria, including projects and empowerment initiatives, to attract more voters.
“We tell everyone that we don’t need propaganda for this campaign; what we are selling is something that has done everything for the Northern region, and we are going to showcase these projects plus the empowerments to garner votes for him,” he said.
He also announced plans to inaugurate the Abuja chapter of Arewa for Asiwaju, alongside liaison offices in other parts of the country, as the group expands its activities ahead of the election.
Also speaking at the event, the group’s Kano State coordinator, Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, a former Minister of State for Housing, said the ambassadors had been carefully selected based on their integrity.
Gwarzo said the campaign would highlight projects across Northern Nigeria to persuade voters to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He added that the ambassadors would be supported by agents at ward level, who would help monitor electoral activities at polling units.
According to him, the arrangement was intended to ensure that votes cast during the election were properly accounted for.
The group’s mobilisation drive comes as political organisations begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.

However, the prediction of massive Northern support for Tinubu represents the group’s position and does not establish how voters in the region will ultimately vote.
