The aspirant rejects consensus claim comes amid growing political manoeuvring within the APC as aspirants position themselves for the upcoming primary elections.
Dr Manu made his position clear shortly after appearing before the party’s screening committee, where he described the process as smooth, interactive and rigorous.
According to him, the committee engaged candidates with several questions, all of which he said he addressed satisfactorily during the session.
“The committee engagement was interactive. They asked a lot of questions and we provided answers to the best of our ability,” Manu told reporters.
The aspirant also clarified his proposed N100 billion development fund, stressing that it is not intended for security operations but rather for economic transformation in the state.
He explained that the fund would focus on agricultural commercialisation and the growth of small-scale enterprises, which he described as central to his development blueprint for Bauchi State.
Dr Manu further dismissed any suggestion of stepping down for another candidate, stating that no consensus arrangement had been communicated to him.
“I have been preparing for the elections. I have no intention of stepping down for anyone,” he said.
Bauchi governorship candidate rejects consensus narrative highlights ongoing tensions within party ranks as aspirants continue to assert independent ambitions ahead of the primaries.
