The Ganduje Kwankwaso political drifter remark was made during an interview on BBC Hausa, where the former governor also reflected on the political history between both men, noting their shared beginnings in the Peoples Democratic Party before moving through different political platforms.
Ganduje stated that he and some political allies initially joined the APC due to Kwankwaso’s influence, but claimed the former governor later abandoned the party in pursuit of new political alignments.
According to him, Kwankwaso’s political journey has involved multiple party changes, including the New Nigeria Peoples Party and later the African Democratic Congress, movements Ganduje used to question his ideological consistency.
“He has become a political drifter, a political bird that can perch anywhere,” Ganduje said, adding that strategic political decisions had been deployed to regain control of Kano politics.
His comments come amid ongoing political realignments in the country, with Kwankwaso recently linked to further party movements alongside other prominent opposition figures.
