FCT Minister Nyesom Wike urges residents to sustain peace, unity, and compassion in Eid message while praising Ramadan virtues and national progress
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike has urged residents to sustain the virtues of compassion, forgiveness, peace, and unity that Ramadan embodies.

Wike delivered the message in his Eid-el-Fitr address to FCT residents on Thursday, describing Ramadan as a “period of spiritual rejuvenation, self-reflection, and renewal.”
He encouraged prayers for Nigeria’s leaders and the nation’s continued peace and progress.
“It was reassuring to see Muslims sharing and caring for fellow Muslims and non-Muslims alike in the last 30 days within the FCT.Individuals and corporate organisations have demonstrated their commitment to maintaining Abuja’s pride of place as the centre of unity, peace and harmony in Nigeria,” he said.
The minister assured residents of security agencies’ readiness to ensure celebrations proceed in safety, urging citizens to go about their activities without fear.
Wike highlighted the upcoming nationwide campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections, noting that the FCT, as the nation’s administrative centre, would witness a flurry of political activities.
He called on residents to emulate the peaceful conduct of the Muslim Ummah during the period.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for improving the socioeconomic welfare of FCT residents and enhancing security.

“It is our prayer that the Almighty Allah will continue to uphold him. Once again, to our Muslim brothers and sisters, may Allah accept our fasts, prayers, and good deeds, and grant us a blessed Eid,” Wike said, reiterating the administration’s commitment to developing the FCT into a world-class city.
