Rivers State Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu defects from PDP to APC, urging residents to support Tinubu and Governor Fubara

Odu’s move follows the defection of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the majority of state and federal lawmakers from Rivers State to the APC over a month ago.

She completed her registration at Akabuka, Ward 8, Unit 11, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area on Sunday and toured all six zones of the LGA to sensitise residents on the ongoing APC e-registration exercise.

Addressing stakeholders after her registration, Odu said the move aimed to strengthen support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Fubara.

She urged residents to register with the APC, noting large turnouts during her visits across Egi, Omoku, Osomini, Igburu, Egbema, and Ndoni.

“The people said wherever I go, they will go with me; and wherever Governor Fubara and President Tinubu go, they will go,” Odu said, describing the reception as a boost to the party’s grassroots support in the LGA.

A major highlight of the tour was the defection of hundreds of Labour Party members in Ndoni to the APC, all expressing delight at joining the party fold, according to the statement issued by Owupele Benebo, Head of Press, Office of the Deputy Governor.

The development reinforces the APC’s growing influence in the region and signals increasing alignment of local political structures with the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Fubara.
