The Oyo APC mobilisation tour, organised in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, commenced on Monday at Oba Adeyemi Stadium in Oyo town, covering the Oyo Federal Constituency and marking the start of a planned outreach across all 14 federal constituencies in the state.

Party leaders at the event said the initiative was designed to rebuild internal cohesion, reinforce party structures at the grassroots level and present a united front in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The mobilisation followed recent house to house engagements reportedly led by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and the APC’s 2023 governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin, as part of efforts to reconcile rival factions within the party.

Addressing supporters, former Oyo State First Lady and Ambassador designate, Dr Florence Ajimobi, described the tour as a turning point for the party, urging members to embrace peace and collective purpose.

She told party stakeholders that internal divisions must give way to cooperation, declaring that there should be no more war within the APC in Oyo State.

Senator Folarin, who also serves as the state’s Ambassador for Renewed Hope, said the tour was focused on consolidating existing structures and expanding electoral support for President Tinubu ahead of 2027.

He noted that Oyo State recorded one of the party’s strongest presidential performances in the 2023 election, when President Tinubu secured 449,884 votes.

“Our goal for 2027 is to grow that figure by at least 35 per cent through sustained grassroots engagement across all 33 local government areas,” Folarin said.

He added that early mobilisation, stakeholder engagement and internal reconciliation would form the backbone of the party’s strategy, describing unity as the APC’s most potent asset.

Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu also urged party members to remain disciplined, stressing that cooperation within the party would be decisive in determining future electoral outcomes.

Oyo State APC Chairman, Olayide Abass, said the mobilisation tour would strengthen internal party machinery and position the APC for success at both the national and state levels in 2027.

The event drew a strong turnout of party leaders, including Senators Yunus Akintunde, Sharafadeen Alli, Femi Lanlehin and Ayo Adeseun, alongside former deputy governors Chief Iyiola Oladokun and Chief Moses Alake.

Former Speakers Asimiyu Alarape and Akeem Adeyemi, as well as several party elders and grassroots mobilisation leaders, were also in attendance.

The APC said the tour would continue across the remaining federal constituencies in the coming weeks as part of a broader effort to energise supporters and project a message of unity ahead of the next election cycle.
