The endorsement was made during a well-attended PDP Ibarapaland Stakeholders’ zonal meeting held in Igboora, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area over the weekend, where party leaders and grassroots mobilisers gathered to review the direction of the party and its prospects ahead of the next general election.
Originally convened to discuss the planned visit of Governor Seyi Makinde to the zone, the meeting evolved into a strategic political engagement focused on leadership, unity and succession planning within the party.
Participants assessed emerging political dynamics and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the PDP’s structure across the region.
In a show of solidarity, stakeholders passed a vote of confidence in Adebo Ogundoyin, commending his leadership style, loyalty to the party and contributions to legislative stability in Oyo State.
The endorsement was described as a reflection of widespread support within the zone.
The Ogundoyin governorship endorsement was further reinforced by calls from leaders across the three local government areas in Ibarapaland, who urged the Speaker to formally declare his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election.
Party stakeholders expressed optimism that his emergence would consolidate the PDP’s influence in the state, while also appealing to unity among members ahead of the electoral cycle.
They emphasised the importance of internal cohesion and collective decision making in maintaining the party’s strength.
