The Niger senator defects to APC after his resignation letter was read on the floor of the Senate by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary session.

In the letter, Jiya attributed his decision to ongoing internal divisions and unresolved conflicts within the PDP, describing the situation as a major factor influencing his departure.

Jiya stated that his move was necessary to continue his political career, while also expressing gratitude to the PDP for providing him the platform to serve.
