Kwankwaso’s ADC Move Seen as Dangerous Blow to Tinubu

Kwankwaso ADC defection impact draws reactions as ADC chieftain says move weakens Tinubu’s 2027 re-election prospects

African Democratic Congress chieftain Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has described the recent defection of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to the African Democratic Congress as a significant political development that could influence President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 general election.

Eze, a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party, stated that the Kwankwaso ADC defection impact represents a major shift in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

He characterised Kwankwaso as a grassroots politician with strong electoral appeal, arguing that his entry into the ADC strengthens the party’s national profile.

According to Eze, Kwankwaso’s decision to join the opposition platform reflects concerns about governance and the need for a broader coalition aimed at political change.

He suggested that the move has added momentum to the ADC, positioning it as a more formidable alternative ahead of the next general elections.

The ADC chieftain further claimed that the development has unsettled the ruling All Progressives Congress, noting that coalition building among opposition figures could reshape voter alignments if sustained.

He praised Kwankwaso for aligning with what he described as a growing movement of experienced politicians within the ADC.

Eze also highlighted the presence of other prominent political figures within the party, suggesting that their combined influence could enhance the party’s competitiveness.

He urged members of the ADC to remain united and focused as preparations intensify toward the 2027 elections.
