Tajudeen Abbas announced the defections on the floor of the House after receiving separate letters from the lawmakers.
The lawmakers, all representing constituencies in Kano State, cited internal crisis within the NNPP as the main reason for their decision to join the ruling APC.
Their letters were read during plenary, formally sealing the political shift in the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
The development attracted high-profile attention within the chamber, with Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and former Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje present during proceedings.
The defections mark a significant realignment in Kano’s political landscape and could reshape party strength ahead of future legislative contests.
