Dr. Chima Amadi Warns Against 2027 Election Manipulation in Imo

Chima Amadi warns against election manipulation, calls for free, fair 2027 Imo governorship polls, and urges grassroots mobilisation via TMO

Imo State governorship hopeful, Dr. Chima Amadi, has cautioned against any attempt to manipulate the 2027 electoral process, stressing that the will of the electorate must prevail.

Amadi delivered the warning in Owerri during the inauguration of an enlarged structure of The Mazi Organization (TMO), comprising its Board of Trustees, Central Working Committee, and Local Government Area Working Committees.

The event drew representatives from all 305 wards across the state’s 27 local government areas.

“This movement is not about one individual; it is about restoring confidence in governance and ensuring that the people’s votes truly count. Every ward, every community, and every polling unit matters,” he said, urging members to act as ambassadors of the organisation and to prioritise peaceful grassroots mobilisation.

Amadi, who hails from Ngor Okpala, dismissed claims of any plan by the All Progressives Congress to rig the 2027 governorship election.

He warned that undermining the democratic process could provoke public discontent.

“Democracy thrives on credibility. Any attempt to subvert the electoral process will not only weaken institutions but may generate avoidable tension,” he added, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a free, fair, and transparent exercise.

Reaffirming his political platform, Amadi urged supporters to align with the Action Peoples Party, describing it as the vehicle for his governorship ambition.

“The Action Peoples Party offers a credible alternative and a platform to rebuild, reform, and reposition the state,” he said.

The event also marked the formal swearing-in of TMO executives at all levels.

Chief Henry Onwukwe, Director General of TMO, pledged to prioritise grassroots engagement, voter education, and disciplined mobilisation in preparation for the 2027 elections.
