Tinubu Begins Europe Vacation Amid Annual Leave

Tinubu begins Europe vacation as part of 2025 annual leave, spending 10 working days in France and the UK before returning to Nigeria.

Tinubu begins Europe vacation as part of his 2025 annual leave, with a 10-day working break spanning France and the United Kingdom, the Presidency confirmed on Thursday.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu departed Abuja on September 4, 2025, to begin the vacation.

“President Tinubu will depart Abuja today, September 4, to commence a working vacation in Europe, as part of his 2025 annual leave,” the statement read.

The 10 working-day vacation will be split between France and the United Kingdom, after which the President is expected to return to Nigeria.

Though labeled as a vacation, sources within the Presidency describe the trip as a working break, implying that the President may still hold strategic meetings or attend non-disclosed engagements during the trip.

The announcement comes amid ongoing national discussions on public finance, health reform, and security restructuring.

Yet, presidential aides maintain that the President’s temporary absence will not affect the day-to-day administration of the country.
