Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Queen Okiyi, disclosed this while briefing journalists on Monday in Abuja.
She said the screening process was conducted smoothly, with two panels handling 35 aspirants each to ensure an orderly and transparent exercise.
According to her, more than 100 governorship aspirants from various states where elections are scheduled are currently participating in the process.
Okiyi explained that the exercise reflects the party’s commitment to due process, internal democracy and credible candidate selection ahead of the 2027 elections.
“So far, the screening has come to an end today, and screening continues tomorrow,” she said.
The screening exercise is expected to continue on Tuesday as the party processes additional aspirants vying for governorship tickets nationwide.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the ADC has also scheduled its presidential aspirant screening for Wednesday, May 20.
It further noted that screening for National Assembly aspirants from parts of Northern Nigeria will now take place in Abuja due to security concerns.
