Idi Hong, a former Minister of State for Health who supported Fintiri during the 2023 elections, warned against granting Fintiri leadership in the state APC.
Speaking at the APC Secretariat in Yola where he was officially welcomed into the party, Hong said allowing new entrants to assume control would be a grave injustice to long-standing members.
Hong urged President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Chairman, and the party’s National Working Committee to prevent unmerited takeover by outsiders.
He stated that the party has been nurtured over the years by committed members, making it morally wrong for an outsider to take its leadership.
He praised the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, as the rightful leader of the party in Adamawa State, emphasizing Ribadu’s longstanding contributions.
Hong also highlighted that the Adamawa APC is a strong political structure across all 21 local government areas, capable of reclaiming power in 2027 without compromising internal integrity.
Explaining his defection from PDP, Hong said the move was aimed at development and progress, aligning with a platform capable of delivering for Adamawa and Nigeria.
